Ten affiliated Umoja Community programs were selected to be included in a Federal Appropriations request for 2011. The selection was based on strong programs, faculty team support and a track record of proven student success. The Umoja Programs are located at the following community colleges:
Chabot, Chaffey, Cosumnes, Diablo Valley, El Camino, Long Beach City, Los Medanos, San Bernardino Valley, San Diego City, and Solano.
The major goal of the federal appropriations request is to conduct professional development work with the ten campuses in order to codify the existing professional materials and processes into models that will lead to the scaling up and replication of Umoja Community programs in California and beyond.
