Join the Umoja Community Consortium:
Membership is open to California community colleges, businesses and other organizations that are supportive of the mission of the Umoja Community. Membership is defined by various categories as defined below. Once you have joined, the Umoja Community of California Community Colleges becomes a critical resource to your college community. The membership fee is $1000 annually.

Member Definitions
Umoja Community Affiliated Program
A California Community College with a new or existing program focusing on the success and retention of African American students based on the Umoja Community model and whose staff have attended the statewide Umoja Community Summer Learning Institute (SLI). All colleges with Umoja Community Affiliated Programs are required to join the Umoja Community Consortium. (Please see steps to become an affiliated program.)
Umoja Community Consortium Member
The Umoja Community Consortium is the network of colleges who, by their paid membership, demonstrate their support of the Umoja Community model. Chancellors and presidents from consortium colleges provide critical feedback and act as advisors to the Umoja Governing Board on the implementation of this statewide initiative.
Recognized Program
A California Community College with an existing program focusing on the success and retention of African American students but is not based on the Umoja Community model.
Sponsors
Businesses or other organizations are eligible and welcome to demonstrate their support of the Umoja Community by making financial contributions in any amount.
