Mainly via its site visits, Summer Learning Institute, Regional Symposia, and annual Umoja conferences, the Umoja Community statewide serves as a deep resource for its programs throughout the state. Moreover, one of the central principles of the Umoja Community is that Umoja programs be a deep resource for each other—an integral aspect of community. The Umoja Community has developed training materials to help educators implement promising practices in the classroom and on their respective campuses. Topics range from culturally relevant pedagogy, African-centered college success course lessons and learning community development and sustainability.
