Welcome to Victor Valley College
The UMOJA Program is a first year experience program dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experience of students at Victor Valley College. The UMOJA program targets students that are interested in learning about African American history and culture. Traditionally, African American Students have a lower success rate in community college, therefore the aim of this program is to promote academic and personal success as well as encouraging transfer to 4-year colleges/universities.
The UMOJA program at Victor Valley College is divided into two unique cohorts: the Freedom Scholars, and the George Washington Carver Scholars or the 'Carverites".
