Welcome to a new academic year, Umoja Community! The Umoja Convocation is a special event—the official beginning of your academic, cultural, and personal journey. At the Umoja Convocation, Umoja staff and leadership will welcome you to the Umoja family, introduce you to academic and community leaders, and help you get off to a good start in your semester.

Umoja Community Education Foundation is excited to host our 2nd Annual STEM Transfer Academy: A Student Summit for Exposure to Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math! The summit will be two half days filled with speakers, hands-on activities and experiments, opportunities to learn about a variety of STEM fields, raffles, prizes, and more! Join us on March 25th from 3 pm-7 pm and March 26th from 12 pm-3 pm for a unique experience in the realm of STEM. The first 50 students to register will receive a special gift!

Dear Community, Thank you for participating in the Village Demands dialogue. Collectively, we have an opportunity to chart the course for the future of Black students, staff, and faculty in California. We are making powerful strides towards demanding equity and support. Let’s keep up the momentum for change! Your voice is needed and valued! We plan to reconvene on October 14, 2020, 12-1:30 p.m. The response from our initial meeting was powerful. We realize that there may have been those who were unable to join due to capacity challenges.
